My name is Lieske Wade, I am married with two wonderful children living in North Hampshire. I am a trained Norland Nanny with 15 years of experience working with mothers, babies and children. I have worked in a range of positions as well as becoming a full time mother to my two children. I gained a vast amount of experience as a member of staff at The Norland Training College before I became a mother myself.
One of my births was a water birth which is a particular area of interest to me. I successfully breast fed both my children giving me a wealth of experience and knowledge.
Knowing how daunting it can be becoming a mother and caring for a new born baby I was delighted to add to my working skills by qualifying as a Birth and Postnatal Doula with babyonboarddoulas , gaining The Professional Doula Award Level 3. (Endorsed by CACHE Council for Awards in Children Care and Education)
I feel very passionate about the care and support that can be offered to an expectant mother and would have embraced the chance of the practical and emotional support from a doula when I had my own children even though I was a trained nursery nurse. Nothing prepares you for the amazing journey you are about to embark on!
I have also recently completed stem cell retrieval training with Cells4Life Ltd on an Umbilical Cord Blood Training course (Accredited by the National Association of Phlebotomist), which I found fascinating.
