      Areas I cover are in and around North Hampshire, Andover, Winchester, Salisbury, Newbury, Overton, Whitchurch and surrounding villages up to approximately 20 miles from Andover.
 
 Labour and Birth Doula

 

 

I will visit you before the birth to discuss your birth plan and any other requirements you may have and will usually visit once after the birth. I am on call for you 24 hours a day for two weeks before and two weeks after your due date. When you go into labour, I am happy to be with you when you feel you'd like my support. I can help maintain an environment which is calm and relaxing for birth, remind you of your birth plan.

  

  • I will act as a support during labour giving encouragement and reassurance, as well as attending to practical needs.
  • I can provide massage, counter pressure to back pain, make suggestions which may assist you during labour,
  • I will not replace your partner, unless you wish it, but will be a support to you both as a couple.
  • I am not medically trained and will not replace or interfere with the midwife or doctor.
  • After the birth I will remain until you are comfortable with your newborn. 
  • I can help you begin your chosen method of feeding your baby giving you support and information.
  • I will leave as soon as you are ready for some privacy.

 

Postnatal Doula

 

  

My role is to provide non-intrusive, non-judgmental support according to your family's needs and wishes. I am there to allow  you time to settle in, relax and heal.

 

  

  •  If you wish you will be able to debrief and talk about the birth itself, your emotions and most especially have some mothering time for yourself
  • Help with baby so that mum and partner can have time together to settle into their new roles
  • Emotional and informative feeding support, breast/bottle
  • Teaching or giving help with care and baby basics
  • Allow mother to catch up on sleep while baby is cared for
  • Help with the older siblings
  • Help with first outings/errands enabling confidence to build
  • Light housework, cooking (simple meals/snacks), shopping/errands

Back up doula
